Westbury Middle School (WMS) recently sponsored its second annual Health and Wellness Fair, which drew more than 200 WMS staff members, students, families and people in the local community.
There were nearly 25 local organizations that attended and shared important information about various ways in which to lead and maintain healthy lives. There were also fitness opportunities where the attendees were able to participate in a yoga session by Ms. Freiman, an ELA teacher at WMS, as well as engage in different activities in the gymnasium. The attendees were also able to enjoy healthy foods from local food establishments, such as Outback and Punta Cana. Students were able to sample a selection of foods and then indicate which ones they would like to be included on the school’s breakfast/lunch menu.
The event was a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended. The school looks forward to continuing this annual event again next year.
