BeautificationVolunteers_051116

BeautificationVolunteers_051116The Village of Farmingdale Beautification Committee has finalized plans for planting flowers for the coming season. This year’s selection includes varieties of wave petunias and New Guinea impatiens. Thousands of plants have been ordered and many volunteers will be needed to plant the flowers prior to the Memorial Day weekend celebrations. The planting schedule is as follows:

Saturday, May 14: 9 a.m. at Village Hall, 261 Main St. The Junior Brigade of the Farmingdale Fire Department will be hanging plants on the street light poles all along Main Street. Everyone is welcome.

Monday, May 16: 10 a.m.at the corner of Main Street and Melville Road. Volunteers needed to plant flowers at the entrance park to the village.

Tuesday, May 17: 10 a.m. at Northside Park. Join other volunteers as they plant colorful flowers in the park.

Saturday, May 21: 9 a.m. at the Village Green. The biggest undertaking of the season—planting the flower pots that line Main Street, flowers in the fountain and plants surrounding the Village Green.

Come and support the efforts of the Beautification Committee. Join members for one day or all four, several hours or just one—every little bit helps. The result: enjoyable time with friends and neighbors and the sight of beautiful flowers throughout the village all summer long.
