This year’s PARP (Pick a Reading Partner) theme at Sparke was “Fetch a Good Book!” In addition to the many, varied reading-themed activities, the staff at Sparke decided to add a community service component to educate the children about the importance of giving back to the community.
The staff, students and families were encouraged to bring in donations of dog and cat food, blankets, animal toys, etc. for the Last Hope Animal Shelter. The donations will be used for the animals at Last Hope, to help keep them happy, safe and comfortable as they wait for a “furever” home.
Sparke teacher Mrs. Grillo, coordinated with the shelter and delivered a van full of goodies to help the furry friends. Thank you to all the staff, students and families who brought in donations for this great cause.
