Pilates

Register online for this class held from 7 to 8 p.m. the Wednesdays of May 18, 25 and June 1, 8, 15 and 22. Learn Pilates with Stacey Palmese-Guglielmo. Please bring a yoga mat or towel and water. Fee: $25.

Writing Workshop         

Register online for this class for grades 6-12. From 7 to 8 p.m., author Katie McKnight will help participants learn how to hone their writing skills.

Poets Gather

At 7 p.m., poets are encouraged to read what they have written and appreciate the works of others. No registration required.

Computer Basics

From 10 a.m. to noon the library presents “Chip Chat: Introduction to Your Computer.” Register online. Learn how to turn on your computer, save documents, and more. All participants will have their own computer to use during the class. First time computer users welcome. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents.

Zumba

Register online for this class held on the Thursdays of May 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16, 23 at 7. Learn Zumba with Cathy Pinner. Fee: $25.

Ray Charles Redivivus

At 2 p.m. the library presents Vinny St. Martin and the Seeing Eye Dog Band performing “Soul of The Century,” a tribute to Ray Charles. St. Marten lost his sight when he was eight years old. When he first heard Ray Charles sing, he did not know that singer also blind and he became his musical hero. Part of the Town of Oyster Bay Distinguished Artists Series. No registration required

Short Story Group

Join the library group for a lively discussion of short stories from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Pick up a copy at the Reference Desk. No registration required.

Essential Oils

Register online for this 7 p.m. class with Tara Penske, certified aromatherapist. She will teach participants step-by-step how essential oils and other natural products can be used to make lip balms and lotions. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents.

Matinée Movie

The library cinema presents Leonardo DiCaprio in his Oscar-winning role in The Revenant at 1:15 and 6:30 p.m. Plot: A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In the event of a large turnout, residents with proof of residency in UFSD #22 will be admitted first. No registration required.

Wednesday, May 25

Community Play And Learn

Register at the library for this program for ages 1-4 and an adult at 6 p.m. Children will visit various stations, such as the post office, construction zone, market, and home. As they play, they will learn all about the community around them. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents. Proof of age required.

Video Game Club

For grades 6 and up and special needs students at 7:30 p.m. Register online. Join librarian Joe McDonald for a night of video game fun.
