Towers Of Freedom Ribbon Cutting

The Towers of Freedom 9/11 Military Monument located in John J. Burns Park on Merrick Road in Massapequa Park will be honoring all veterans and emergency responders, our American heroes, on Saturday at 10 a.m. and throughout the Memorial Day three day weekend. On Saturday May 28th  at 10 a.m. the Towers of Freedom Committee will cut the ribbon to dedicate a walkway for the disabled, elderly and those MassCal_052516Awho utilize assistance to walk so they may all have access around the Towers of Freedom 9/11 Military Monument.  After this ribbon cutting, which is open to the media, the public may visit the site from Saturday afternoon until the end of the day on Monday in order to place a carnation on the monument in recognition of all who have sacrificed in the name of American Freedom.  There will be a limited number of carnations available for the public who are encouraged to stop at the site located in the Town of Oyster Bay’s John J. Burns Park on Merrick Road in Massapequa from Saturday afternoon until the park closes on Monday Memorial Day.

The media are encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.  Members of the Towers of Freedom Committee, public officials, and veteran leaders will be available for interviews related to this important veteran site.  For more information contact Tom Smith, Towers of Freedom organizer, at 516-382-8299.
