The Herricks Public Schools placed at No. 4 out of more than 90 school districts across Long Island in a list compiled by Patch highlighting the highest average SAT scores. The average SAT score in Herricks for 2015 was 1767.
According to Patch, the rankings were based on SAT information provided by the New York State Department of Education.
“Patch hopes these reports will help inform parents, educators and communities about how well a public school is performing and preparing its students for college and careers,” the online news network stated in its article.
“Our students work hard, and are supported by involved parents and outstanding educators,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Fino Celano. “Throughout the district, starting in our elementary schools, our teachers and administrators are committed to providing high quality instruction and 21st century skills that will prepare our students to be life-long learners.”
