North Shore Animal League America held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction for the Don and Karen LaRocca Pet Wellness Center on Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. The Wellness Center will serve the growing need in the community for high-quality, affordable veterinary care. This new facility, which will expand their current Pet Health Center, was graciously donated by longtime supporters of Animal League America, Don and Karen LaRocca.
This new facility, which will now be separate from our existing Medical Center, will proactively manage the health of our shelter animals and owned patients. They will also be able to expand the scope of the wellness care we provide, offering additional services such as physical therapy, nutritional counseling and acupuncture. Their ongoing goal is to prevent illness, rather than treating it after it develops. The Don and Karen LaRocca Pet Wellness Center will help them to continue to serve our community, while keeping true to the mission to rescue, nurture and adopt all animals in need.
