The Town of Oyster Bay Department of Environmental Resources will host a public scoping session on Monday, June 20, at Town Hall in Oyster Bay beginning at 7 p.m. According to Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano, the purpose of this scoping session is to allow residents the opportunity to provide input on the topics and information to be included in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which the applicant will prepare on the proposed Syosset Park mixed use development, located on the north side of the Long Island Expressway in Syosset, just east of Robbins Lane.
Coschignano noted that at the meeting, residents can review and discuss the draft scope for the DEIS, which includes a description of the proposed project, potentially significant adverse impacts, initial identification of mitigation measure and reasonable alternatives to be considered. The draft scope can also be viewed in advance of the meeting on the town’s website, www.oysterbaytown.com.
The councilman added that the meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Ave. in Oyster Bay, beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited to come and provide comments on the draft scope. Written comments will be accepted until July 13 and should be directed to the Department of Environmental Resources, as described on the town’s website.
