Roseanne Beovich, senior associate attorney at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona (GDGC), was chosen as a Top Women in Law by the Hofstra University School of Law, Center for Children, Families and Law. The first annual celebratory luncheon was attended by more than 300 people featuring Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas as the keynote speaker.
Beovich concentrates her practice in estate litigation, estate administration, appellate advocacy and guardianships, dividing her time between the health care reimbursement and recovery department and the estate litigation department.
“All of our honorees serve as a role model for the next generation of women lawyers and judges and speaks volumes about their character and perseverance,” said Gail Prudenti, executive director of Children, Families and the Law. “When many women lawyers began their practice, it was uncommon to see another woman on the opposite side of the courtroom, let alone on the bench. Today, women attorneys are represented in the highest echelons of the legal professional and the judiciary. However, the glass ceiling has not yet been completely shattered.”
“It is wonderful and humbling to be recognized as a role model for other women attorneys. As a tutor for several Hofstra law school students, I realize how important it is to support and encourage young women who will be entering the legal profession on Long Island,” Beovich said.
