Floral Park Memorial High School junior Madison Valdez was selected as Art Student of the Month for June. Valdez has been an active member in the art department since eighth grade, taking Art 8, Studio Art, Drawing and Painting, and Advanced Placement Two Dimensional Design. She plans on enrolling in Advanced Placement Drawing next school year.
Creating a portfolio in Advanced Placement Two Dimensional Design has allowed Valdez to better develop her style and think conceptually about her artwork. She has taken a particular interest in creating expressive portraits. Her talent, hard work and positive attitude have allowed her to become a successful and exemplary student. The Floral Park Memorial Art Department is proud to recognize Madison as the art student of the month.
