New York State Senate candidate Ryan Cronin recently announced that he will report having raised over $200,000 for his campaign this election cycle. Cronin’s filing is the most ever raised by an opponent of Kemp Hannon at this point during an election year.

“I’m thankful for this great early support of my campaign for State Senate, especially the overwhelming number of people from our district chipping in” Cronin said. “Our strong start is proof that the people of Nassau County are tired of out of touch politicians.”

This impressive number means that Cronin’s 2016 campaign for State Senate has already outraised his 2012 campaign against the incumbent, Kemp Hannon, who has been in Albany since Gerald Ford was president. In 2012 Cronin came within two percentage points of defeating this long-time incumbent.

Cronin concluded, “I’m out every night knocking doors and talking to voters – they’re sick of reading about the corruption and dysfunction in Albany. They’re tired of stories about their elected officials enriching themselves instead of worrying about the needs of our communities. What I hear is they are ready for change and real leadership.”
