On my way home from volunteering at a food pantry in Levittown, I stopped to have my hair done. While there, an elderly woman, who needs two crutches to get around, came in to have her hair done. She was helped into the salon by a handsome gentleman who saw her struggle.
The gentleman asked her beautician how much her bill would be for whatever she was getting done. When he was told the price, he said he was paying for it. The lady asked him why he would do this for a total stranger. His reply was, “because I can.”
I was smiling the rest of the day every time I thought of it. There are still some wonderful people who do great things and do not need recognition for their acts.
