Scholarship For Alexandra Vespe

NewHydePark_WebLogobAlexandra Vespe, a student at Herricks High School, has been awarded a scholarship from Winthrop-University Hospital’s Sports Medicine Program.
“We are excited about the growth of our program and the opportunity to provide athletic trainers to these districts. It’s very rewarding to give back to the community by honoring a student that will be following their dreams in the field of medicine or an allied field,” said Stephen Wirth, PT, administrative director of Sports Medicine at Winthrop.
Senior students from the partnering high schools who were applying to a college program in healthcare or a related field and had a GPA of 3.0 or higher were eligible. As part of the application process, students were asked to submit an essay supporting why they should be selected and explaining how athletics has been a part of their goals for future contributions in healthcare.
