Craft Fair
From 10 a.m. to noon, Christ Lutheran Church in New Hyde Park will hold a craft fair and flea market. In the past, the event has showcased many specialty items such as jewelry, hand-crafted items, holistic health products, upcycled and repurposed home decor. Gardening Club Event
From 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, Junior Gardening Club members are invited to come to the Parkville library to see how your plants are growing, pull weeds and water the plants. Gardening supplies will be available. For ages 3 to 10 years old with parent/caregiver. No registration required. The library is at 10 Campbell St. Call 516-466-8055.

Children’s Theatre Production
On both Aug. 13 and Aug. 14, at both 7 p.m., The Children’s Theatre Production of New Hyde Park presents A Children’s Musical, directed by Marilyn McClean. The musical will be held at the William Gill Theatre at the village hall, 1420 Jericho Tpke. Seating is limited. Purchase tickets in advance at village hall. Admission price: $5 a ticket.

Summer Craft Time
From 6:30 to 7 p.m., the Parkville Library will host a summer craft time. Bring your friends and join the library for a chance to create a fun summer craft. For ages 2 to 10 years old with parent/caregiver. The library is at 10 Campbell St. Call 516-466-8055.

Village Board Meeting
At 8 pm., the Village of New Hyde Park will hold a board of trustees meeting at village hall, 1420 Jericho Tpke. Call 516-354-0022.

Dragon Tales
From 1 to 6 p.m., the Parkville Library will host a dragon tales event. Children reading storybooks to dragon lizards: what could be cuter? The smiles on a child’s face, the excitement of doing something different proves there’s anticipation when it comes to reading in this particular setting. And that’s what it’s all about. Youngsters of all ages are not only learning to read, they’re looking forward to it. Reading slots are open to children ages 5 to 12 in the children’s room at the Parkville branch and takes place in 20 minute blocks. For ages 5 to 12 years old with parent/caregiver.
