Nesconset Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car

A 54-year-old man was fatally hit by a car while crossing a road in his hometown of Nesconset on Tuesday afternoon.

Suffolk County police said James Zullo was walking across Route 347 from the center median when he was struck by a Subaru at 4:25 p.m.

The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not hurt.

Fourth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.
