Welcome back to another wonderful school year. This year for our district promises to be innovative and exciting. Under the leadership of four new principals and a new Board of Education president and vice president, we have prepared an outstanding academic program for all of our students this year. We are fully immersed in a rigorous reading program called Reading Fundamentals that helps students engage in deep discussion and writing activities that address the rigor of the Common Core Learning Standards. We are launching our STEAM initiatives focused on the connectivity of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. We truly believe that to prepare our students for the 21st Century world, they must be empowered to see and make connections across content areas and create new structures for which our state, county, and world will thrive.
We continue to place having emphasis on the development of the affective domain of every child. Our Character Education program and our Bully program both rooted alongside our District Code of Conduct strive to provide the necessary cooperative skills for getting along as members of our school community. The students and staff realize the greater mission of our district, and are called to serve others who are less fortunate, by engaging in numerous service projects throughout this year. This is what we consider the true evidence of actions speak louder than words. As a community we learn, we serve, and we contribute.
To everyone in our educational community and those in other educational communities, we wish you a productive, happy and successful school year.
