For a third consecutive year, the Levittown Chorus was invited to sing the national anthem prior to the start of the Sept. 20 Mets game at Citi Field. Division Avenue High School teacher Helen Papayannakos and MacArthur High School teacher Lisa Levenberg conducted the chorus, an ensemble of singers from both high schools.
Curriculum associate for music Vincent D’Ulisse said being invited to perform at Citi Field is an accomplishment in itself, but being invited for a third time is unprecedented.
“They were invited back for a third year because the Mets organization is thrilled with the partnership we have formed, as well as the high level of musical performance,” he said.
