Holidays in the Harbor: Sea Glass Ornaments

Sunday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m.

See 19th century glass artifacts and use sea glass to create your own sparkly Christmas tree ornament. Good for kids and adults alike! Onr hour. Admission + $5 craft fee. Members $5 craft fee only.

Holidays in the Harbor: Menorah Workshop

Learn about whale oil and olive oil, see oil lamps, and create your own tiled menorah. Good for kids and adults alike! One hour. Admission +$5 craft fee. Members $5 craft fee only.

Holidays in the Harbor: Gingerships!

Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:30 p.m.

“Gingerbread work” is the carved, white architectural detail found on many colonial American seaside homes, and everyone loves a gingerbread house around the holidays! Come make our version of a Ginger-Ship from graham crackers and other goodies on a milk carton base. All materials supplied. Call to register, spots are limited! One hour. Admission + $5 craft fee. Members $5 craft fee only.

Holidays in the Harbor: Yankee Whaler Victorian Holiday Party

Saturday, Dec. 17, from 12-3 p.m. Stop in anytime!

Come with your family and friends to celebrate in the era of Victorian traditions. Enjoy crafts of olde and new and ring in the holidays with traditional sea shanties sung live by Sampawam’s Creek, scrimshaw carving, candle-dipping and other festive crafts for kids and adults! With support from the New York Council for the Humanities. $10 person. Members $5.

CAMP: Ice Squad (NEW!)

Tues-Wed, December 27-28, from 9:30 – 1 p.m.

Grades K-3, Crew Leaders Grade 4-5, CITs 8th grade +

Explorers in this drop-off camp can explore the frosty world of polar bears, penguins, walruses and whales! Different arctic adventure each day, including crafts, experiments and lots of fun learning games. Discounts for museum members.

Star Warz Returns

Thursday, Dec. 29, from 1-4 p.m. Stop in anytime!

Navigate through a special scavenger hunt, create Jabba slime, and may the force be with you as you create lots of themed crafts. See how sailors used the celestials for navigation and meet Darth Vader! $10 Child, $6 Adults. Members: $6 Adults, $5 Child

New Year’s Bash for Kids!

Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m.

Count down to 12 (noon!) with festive crafts and hot chocolate. A great way to usher in the “New Year” with your little one! Great for ages 3-6. Onr hour. Admission +$3 craft fee. Members $3 craft fee only, adults free.
