Locust Valley Students Earn Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Award

Locust Valley High School physical education teacher and varsity basketball coach Tim Lomot, senior Thomas Eletto, senior Julia Orski, key note speaker and assistant varsity basetball coach Michael McVeigh and physical education teacher Nadine Pacifico.

Two Locust Valley High School seniors received the Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Award. Thomas Eletto and Julia Orski earned this honor by exhibiting exceptional achievement in physical education and achieving a high level of fitness. In addition, recipients must exemplify and demonstrate an understanding of the New York State learning standards for health and physical education and are required to have leadership skills, responsible personal and social behavior and exhibit sportsmanship, character, civility and citizenship.

Eletto is a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams, while Orski is a valued member of the varsity field hockey team. They are both leaders on and off the field and are positive role models for their peers.

The students were nominated for this award by the high school physical education staff.
