In support of Fleet Week New York (FWNY), the U.S. sea services will host a variety of aviation static displays to showcase the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services, May 22-28.
Events include:
Tuesday, May 22
- 10 a.m. – noon. Event will include U.S. Navy (USN) aviation static displays and personnel equipment. Event is free and open to the general public. Miller Field, Staten Island.
Saturday, May 26
- 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Event will include U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) aviation static displays, personnel equipment and more. Event is free and open to the general public. Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
- 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Event will include USN helicopter static displays with an EOD fast rope demonstration, personnel equipment and more. Event is free and open to the general public. Eisenhower Park | East Meadow.
- Noon – 12:30 p.m. A U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) helicopter will conduct a search and rescue demonstration over open water near the pier. Event is free and open to the general public to view. Homeport Pier, Staten Island.
Sunday, May 27
- 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Event will include a ceremony in honor of Memorial Day for veterans and USMC aviation static displays. Event is free and open to the general public. Rye Playland, Rye.
- Noon – 5 p.m. Event will include USN helicopter static displays with an EOD fast rope demonstration, USCG search and rescue demonstration, Navy Dive Tank, USMC Martial Arts Program demonstration and USMC vehicles, personnel equipment, kid’s activities and more. Event is free and open to the general public. Liberty State Park, Jersey City.
Monday, May 28
- 2 – 6 p.m. Event will include a ceremony in honor of Memorial Day for veterans and USMC aviation static displays. Event is free and open to the general public. Glen Island Park, New Rochelle.
- 10 a.m.- noon. A USN missing man formation aerial salute will be done in conjunction with the Intrepid Memorial Day Commemoration at Pier 86. The squadron will be comprised of FA-18 Super Hornets based out of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86N, Manhattan.
- 2 – 2:30 p.m. A USCG helicopter will conduct a search and rescue demonstration over open water near the pier. Access to the Intrepid Pier is free and open to the general public to view. Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86N, Manhattan
