Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) honored Girls Inc. Long Island during their seventh annual gala at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Thursday, Nov. 1, for their ongoing efforts to cultivate a new generation of young female leaders.
According to its mission statement, Girls. Inc. of Long Island provides school and community-based programming that serve the unique needs of girls ages 5-18 living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Girls Inc. Long Island, like similar regional chapters throughout the country, strives to help girls achieve their full potential and pave the way for a brighter future.
“For more than 100 years, Girls Inc. has been inspiring young women across the nation to be strong, smart and bold advocates for themselves, their communities and for equality,” Legislator Drucker said. “I am delighted to see that Girls Inc. Long Island is continuing to thrive, and it was my pleasure to celebrate this year’s scholarship winners and honorees.”
