Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and County Assessor David Moog recently announced that four mobile assessment sites are now open in addition to the main office in Mineola.
“We’re bringing the answers to you,” said Curran. “My assessment reforms will bring about many changes and a lot of questions. Our mobile assessment offices are now open, and residents can make an appointment at any of our five locations at www.AskTheCountyAssessor.com.”
Assessment Department staff members are ready to explain the new market values, and will have data on comparable property sales. Staff will also be able to answer questions on level of assessment, and how the tentative assessment was calculated, at the following satellite offices locations and the main office at 240 Old Country Road in Mineola.
Satellite offices locations:
• Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn
• Eisenhower Park Administration building in Westbury
• Public Safety Center at 1194 Prospect Ave in Westbury
• Nickerson Beach Administration Building in Lido Beach
The satellite office locations are open Monday to Thursday, with appointments available from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The Nassau County Department of Assessment in Mineola will be open late on Fridays until 7:15 p.m. and on Saturdays the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Commercial property appointments are only available at 240 Old Country Road in Mineola. The Department of Assessment is currently accepting appointments from Nov. 1 through Dec. 22. Appointments can be made online at www.AskTheCountyAssessor.com or by calling 516-571-4374.
The website also contains the following helpful information: Frequently asked questions; the county executive’s taxpayer protection plan; survey; understanding your Prognose report; look up property information; and links to the assessment, assessment review commission and AROW (Assessment Review on the Web) websites.
“I want to make sure that every resident is prepared for any changes that arise as I continue to fix the County’s corrupted roll, and fix the fiscal mess the Mangano administration left us with,” said Curran.
