Passing Of A Legend

Letter to the Editor Featured Image webThere are those people who need the spotlight and those who work behind the scenes to make things great. A very special man who was a humble man and made the world a more beautiful place to live passed away. Anthony DiStefano owner of Tony DiStefano Landscaping and a longtime Manhasset Chamber of Commerce member.

DiStefano will be missed. He and his children continued to beautify Manhasset with the flowers and shrubbery on Plandome Road and in Mary Jane Davies Park near the Welcome to Manhasset sign as well as the clock at the park. DiStefano was involved in making Manhasset a lovely place to live and raise a family. He chose to beautify the community for years without compensation for his labors. He is an institution and greatly loved the environment and the people who lived here.

The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce fondly remembers DiStefano as a friend, neighbor and member who believed in doing for his fellow man. You can dedicate a hanging basket in honor of Tony DiStefano, by sending a check to the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce Adopt-A-Pole in his name to P.O.Box 754 Manhasset, NY 11030.
God bless America and its unsung heroes like Tony DiStefano.
