Mayweather Boxing and Fitness will be opening a new gym in Manhasset at 1579 Northern Blvd. The 2,200 square-foot property will be opening at some point in December or January.

The Mayweather Boxing and Fitness gym chain was created by former five-weight boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. This location will be the fitness chain’s first foray in suburban New York and it will also be opening another franchise in Manhattan.

“Manhasset is a thriving community of athletic, health-minded people who value wellness,” David Townes said, a broker for Cushman and Wakefield, the retail team that set up the deal. “Being conveniently located on Northern Blvd. near the Americana Manhasset made it the ideal location.”

Townes also says that the fitness studio is enrolling new members at an unprecedented rate and those that sign up now will receive a special rate. Membership will be sold at full price after the studio opens in a few months’ time.

Each 45-minute class consists of 12 rounds, with two warm-up rounds, four bag rounds, four floor rounds and two abdominal rounds. The fitness studio claims you can burn up to 1,000 calories in their championship classes.

“Mayweather Boxing and Fitness studios are highly attractive to health-minded individuals looking for a close-knit fitness community and a fun workout.” Townes said. “Individuals at any level can enjoy and excel at our classes, because they were designed to be welcoming and effective. Mayweather Boxing and Fitness offers an authentic experience for those who want to learn from Floyd Mayweather’s techniques and training regimens, while getting in the best shape of their lives in a high-intensity group fitness setting.”

The studio uses a mobile app to book classes, provide workout videos and show heart rate tracking data. TV screens in the studio show the workout for the day and individual’s heart rate. The studio has also used a virtual reality product that allows you to train with a virtual Floyd Mayweather during your workout.
