Looking for a new furry best friend? These dogs and cats are waiting to meet you at Long Island shelters today!
Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:
Quill is a 5-year-old cutie pie who recently arrived at the shelter in July after his owner died. He is a sweet boy who likes to play and already knows a bunch of commands. He is dog friendly who adores people. He displayed some food guarding at the shelter, so a savvy home with older kids (15+) is ideal for him. Quill is currently at the shelter and available for foster or adoption! Please email foster@tohmail.org or adoption@tohmail.org for more information about how to bring home Quill today!
Available for adoption through North Shore Animal League America:
Penelope (Adoption #BF3229) is receiving the royal treatment because this princess deserves to be pampered! Her low-key personality is a perfect complement to any feline friend in search of a new soulmate. Four-year-old Penelope survived great obstacles to find her way to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, but everything she left behind her is preparing her for the golden retirement she so deserves. We can’t think of a better companion than this sleek beauty, and we’re sure you’ll agree Penelope is purrfect for you!
**Double Adoption** (BF3230/32): This dynamic duo of lifelong friends is seeking a home to retire in together. When 8-year-olds Julio and Romeo lost the only home they’d ever known when their owner passed away, their bond deepened. Together they insist they belong, and together is our goal for them. A devastating turn of events would shake up any family member, but these bonded brothers have relied on each other to get through this bumpy road and have courage to discover what awaits on the horizon. They’re hoping you’ll be drawn in by their kind hearts and soulful eyes because they are ready to be your steady dates for the future!
Fabulous Fluffington (Adoption #H210696) found himself needing NSALA’s help to find him a more permanent home. This shy 1-year-old is ready to find new friends—feline and human—who will offer him tons of fun, love, and cuddles. He’s a terrific choice for a quiet home setting. If you’ve never had a cat before, let Flufflington show you how easy it is to love one, and be loved thoroughly in return!
Sit down and let Pugsley (Adoption #NCI1653) tell you about his day. This handsome 6-year-old found his way down state from our sister shelter in Glen Falls, and we’re so glad he did. Besides pleasant conversation, Pugsley is keen for lengthy ear rub sessions. His gentle, friendly nature makes him an instant fan favorite at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Pugsley is being treated for a minor heart condition—treated at cost through our Pet Health Centers. Don’t hesitate to claim your new best friend. We have a feeling this feline is headed to his permanent home very soon!
**Double Adoption** (Adoption #BF2425/26) Dewey and Dolly’s human rescued them off the busy city streets and provided them a safe place in which to live out their lives. When sudden tragedy struck, North Shore Animal League America vowed to keep them safe until they could find a new home for this bonded pair of 2-year-olds. Dewey is setting a good example for his shyer sister by enjoying the company of new friends and exploring new spaces. Dolly is never far behind her brother. This dynamic duo has survived so much in such a short time. NSALA is looking for a home committed to making sure they are as adored for the rest of their lives as they were from the beginning. If you’d like to complete their story by offering them your heart, Dewey and Dolly will reward you with all the gratitude they can purr your way.
