A Ridge man was arrested Monday for allegedly having sexual contact with a dog, videotaping it, and posting the footage on social media, Suffolk County SPCA detectives said.

Matteo Chirello was charged with animal cruelty and sexual misconduct with an animal.

Investigators said the video recording showed the 21-year-old man grabbing a dog by the neck, shoving its nose to his anus, and pushing it around. The videotape was then posted on social media.

Chirello allegedly admitted to being the one in the video and that the dog is his girlfriend’s parents 12-year-old female Terrier named Ginger.

Chirello is scheduled to appear at First District Court, Central Islip on April 23. Attorney information for the suspect was not immediately available.
