The Sea Cliff school community gathered on May 5 at The Crescent Beach Club to celebrate the comeback of the Parent Community Association (PCA)’s biannual gala and auction.

With the last gala hosted four years ago, the urgency and desire to not only raise critical funding but to celebrate the school’s achievements was evident. Nearly 200 guests attended, including parents, teachers, and Principal Jeanette Wojcik. There were exciting live and silent auctions as well as a wine pull, gift basket raffle, beach games, and live music. Many local businesses and families donated one-of-a-kind experiences to be auctioned off, such as private dining experiences from Potter’s Chef Table and local chef Todd Mitgang, a snowball fight by Sea Cliff Shave Ice, experiences from Frost Ceramics and Village Wine Merchant, an interior design consultation from local designers Dove + Pigeon, a private concert from Antigone Rising, and more.

Recently, Sea Cliff Elementary School was named one of the top elementary schools in New York State. The PCA augments the school’s award-winning programming by providing a variety of enrichment activities including the popular Jamboree, Carnival, Movie Night as well as funding author visits, teacher appreciation events, and enrichment activities such as chess, computer coding, tennis, and more. Lastly, one of the PCA’s top achievements has been the creation of a school garden funded through the last gala.

Thanks to the support of a dedicated committee of parent volunteers and chairs Courtney Citko and Tara Nakutavicius, the annual gala raised the funding needed to continue the PCA’s programming for the next two years as well as to contribute to the sprucing up of the school’s outdoor spaces to continue to foster a productive outdoor learning environment.

It was a record breaking year for sponsors secured through the committee. The PCA would like to thank: Little People Child Care, Oyster Bay United FC, Clarity Construction, the Evolve Team at Compass Real Estate, Daniel Gale, New York Behavioral Health, Pure Barre, Rest Easy Pest Control, American Paving, Bunce Plumbing & Heating, Denali Electric, DJH Painting & Powerwashing, EvergreenClean, Giordano’s Gift, Garden & Design, The Levy Family, Love Your Neighbor Project, Marco Law PLLC, New York Bike Lawyers, Noordwyck Hair Salon, O’Keefe Plumbing & Heating, Photography by Juliette, Sansone Market, and Woodcrest Hardwood Floors.
