Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages marched in the Elmont Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30.
“Memorial Day is a time to remember those brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our great nation,” Solages said. “While Memorial Day has become the unofficial start of summer filled with parades, barbecues and time at the beach with friends and family, we must never forget the true and solemn meaning of this holiday – which is to honor all who gave their lives while serving in our armed forces.”
