kittens

Three of the cutest kitties are available for adoption. Read all about how to bring Chewy, Mango, and/or Bridget home with you today!

And calling all veterinarians and vet techs, please consider offering your services to Helping Paw in East Meadow, located at 220 East Meadow Ave. Due to the recent vet shortage, this low-cost spay and neuter clinic has had difficulty finding the help they need to continue providing care to the feline community. Any time you could spare would be greatly appreciated. For more information, check out their website at helping-paw.org.

Available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter

Chewy and Mando

Chewy (orange) and Mando (grey) are a pair of 1-and-a-half-year-old Domestic Short Hair cats, named after two classic Star Wars characters: Chewbacca and the Mandalorian! They lost their home after their previous owners had to move. Mando can be a little shy at first and takes some time to open up, while Chewy loves everyone and is a big attention seeker. Both of these guys have shown how outgoing and affectionate they can be. Chewy has a very mild heart murmur that needs monitoring with yearly vet visits, but otherwise, they are both very healthy. Chewy and Mando would do well in a family with other cats or children, but they should be kept away from dogs. While we would love for them to go to the same home, they can be separated if need be.

There’s currently a wide variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two, or call 631-360-7575 for more information.
