First National Bank LI’s new corporate headquarters and Melville branch location has officially opened, as the oldest independent bank on Long Island celebrates its 95th anniversary.
Bank officials, clients, and team members gathered to celebrate the occasion at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 20. The Melville branch has relocated to the new headquarters at 275 Broadhollow Rd. and keeps its longtime branch manager, Paula Lavrado.
“While there is much progress to celebrate over the bank’s 95-year history, one constant has remained the same: providing customer-first, relationship-driven service to the clients who entrust us with their business,” said Chris Becker, the bank’s president and CEO. “I’d like to congratulate everyone who has contributed to our position as Long Island’s longest-standing, truly local, independent bank.”
First National Bank LI was founded in Glen Head in 1927. It now has 41 branches throughout the region, including in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. The bank offers a range of services from the individual level to the municipal level and everything in between, from small nonprofit organizations to big businesses.
With the new headquarters, First National Bank LI also rolls out new branding. The Melville location features a new logo with the tagline “Go First. Go Far.” The bank has also been offering a variety of promotions to celebrate its 95th anniversary, as well as volunteering for local community groups through its social responsibility program for employees, CommunityFirst.

The new Melville location of First National Bank LI is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with a 24-hour ATM and drive-up options for customers.
