3 New Restaurants on Long Island

NOODLES & COMPANY

New York’s second Noodles & Company location opened in Farmingdale in December 2022. (The first location is in Garden City.) This fast-casual chain restaurant is known for its variety of simple noodle dishes, from mac and cheese to Japanese udon stir-fry to pad thai.

A few Noodles & Company fan favorites include its buffalo chicken mac ($13.95), cavatappi lemon parmesan with shrimp ($12.95), and spicy Korean beef noodles ($12.75). The eatery offers plenty of vegan options, including some with IMPOSSIBLE meats. There is also a kids menu as well as options in the stuffed pasta, LEANguini, and salad and soup categories.

CAPRIOTTI’S SANDWICH SHOP

If you’re looking for a new sub shop, you’re in luck: Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opened last fall in Hauppauge. According to its website, it is this franchise’s only Long Island location and offers a variety of yummy lunch sandwiches.

Dig into one of Capriotti’s cheesesteaks, turkey or American subs, vegetarian sandwiches, soups, or salads. Subs come in four sizes: half ($7), small ($10) medium ($12), or large ($20).

TAJ CROWN OF INDIA

Since September 2022, Taj Crown of India has been serving authentic Indian food in East Setauket. Owners Dr. Neeru Kumar, Paras Kumar, and Nisha Sachdeva are siblings who grew up helping out at their parents’ Indian restaurant, Shere Punjab, in Queens. They wanted to share the tasty cuisine with local Long Island residents.

Taj Crown of India offers takeout, delivery, and dine-in options, and the restaurant hosts happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. daily. Some menu highlights include the Indo-Chinese chili potatoes appetizer ($10.95), the taj chicken makhani entree ($19.95), and the bhindi dry masala ($16.95). The restaurant offers various naan, rice, meat, and veggie options.
