News Hires, Promotions on Long Island
Kevin L. Santacroce
New Jersey-based ConnectOneBank promoted this seasoned bank executive to the new president of the company’s Long Island Market. In his new role, Santacroce, who has more than 25 years of experience in banking, will lead growth initiatives and business line strategy for ConnectOne in the Long Island Market. He will also oversee the strategic direction of the expansion onto the East End.
Dawn McGrath
Copiague-based Educational Bus Transportation promoted McGrath to assistant vice president of operations. She will help to provide support, leadership and direction to the company’s operating locations throughout Long Island. She will also help control the daily operation of all transportation contracts, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agencies and in conformance with company policies and procedures.
William D. Merklin
Woodbury-based D&B Engineers and Architects promoted Merklin to the position of executive vice president. A recipient of a 2020 Top Engineer Award and a Top Business Leader of Nassau County Award, Merklin is a licensed professional engineer who joined the company in 1995. He is a sought-after spokesperson in the areas of municipal water supply and civil engineering.
Megan M. Murphy
Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP promoted Murphy to partner in the Islandia-based law firm. She represents both commercial and individual clients in all aspects of the defense of premises and transportation liability matters, as well as in high-value property damage, subrogation, and negligent security claims. Megan also handles certain Family Court matters commenced on behalf of Long Island-based school districts.
Michael J. Del Piano
Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP also promoted Del Piano to partner. He represents clients in a broad range of complex labor and employment matters, commercial disputes, and civil rights litigation and appeals before federal and state courts and agencies, and in alternative dispute resolution. His practice also includes counseling employers in transactional matters and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
Irien Moawad
Hempstead-based Community Care Rx welcomed Moawad as president of pharmacy services and compliance. She will lead a team in establishing and enhancing effective partnerships with clients and healthcare professionals. She is responsible for maintaining a strong culture of compliance, ensuring exceptional client experience and timely delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.
William A. Gartland
Bond, Schoeneck & King named Gartland as deputy chair of the Melville-based law firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice. He joined the firm in June 2022 and regularly advises privately held businesses with respect to business law matters and complex transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, private placements, joint ventures and asset-based financing.
Karina M. Contti
Hicksville-based nonprofit Catholic Charities of Long Island hired Contti as director of human resources. Contti is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). The 16-year human resource veteran will have oversight of nearly 500 employees at 50 sites across Long Island. She was previously with the Mental Health Association of Nassau County in Hempstead.
