East Meadow’s NY Holiday Lights Festival will return for the 2023 season. This year’s display, produced once again by LuminoCity, will open on November 9 and run through January 7.

In a press release, Xiaoyi Chen, LumonCity’s founder, said, “We are thrilled to return to Long Island this fall for our 2023 Holiday Lights Festival. After four years, and our growth in visitors just not locally but throughout the Northeast, we are confident that we will see both new and familiar faces at this year’s event.”

This year’s festival will feature a “Wonder Journey” theme and 20 displays, including some with an “Alice in Wonderland” theming. The show will also feature illuminated sculptures from artists Jocelyn Tsaih and Chiaozza, whose works have been featured in various museums around the world.

LuminoCity also partnered with the Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM), featuring youth-designed pieces in displays. Museum participants attended programs that taught the history and processes of making lanterns, before making unique drawings that were turned into sculptures. These works will be on display in the Mystical Jellyfish Forest, Ship & Dolphin Lagoon, Giant Whale Tail, Imaginary Sea Creature and Fiddler Crab exhibits.

LICM President Erika Floreska said, “At Long Island Children’s Museum, we seek out community collaborations that offer our visitors unique opportunities to showcase their creativity as they learn about cultural traditions. We’re excited that thousands of families will be able to see our visitors’ ideas realized as 3-D lanterns during the festival.”

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is not only excited for the display’s return, but also the opportunity to showcase East Meadow to visitors. In a statement, Blakeman said, “Whether you’re a Nassau resident or just visiting with friends and family, I invite everyone to check out this one-of-a-kind family fun experience and explore our vibrant downtown areas. “

The festival will be open Thursday-Monday from 4:30-9:30 during its run. More information about tickets and the festival can be found at www.luminocityfestival.com. Use exclusive code LIP15 at checkout for 15% off!
