The inaugural Fine Art Fair at Hempstead House, held on Feb. 11, 2024 drew in over 800 attendees to explore the stunning halls of the historic Hempstead House. This two-day cultural event, organized by Ripple Creative with Sands Point Preserve Conservancy, offered a fusion of art and architectural splendor. The exclusive Preview + Reception, held on Saturday, Feb. 10, offered attendees a sneak peek into the event, featuring champagne, light bites, piano music, and an opportunity to meet the artists. Several pieces of artwork were sold during the preview, setting the tone for a successful weekend.
Attendees were enthralled by the works of 26 talented artists spanning various mediums, all showcased within the magnificent backdrop of the former Guggenheim mansion. One attendee said, “In all of my years living in Sands Point, this is the best use of the Hempstead House I’ve ever seen!” The event served as a testament to the rich heritage of the Gold Coast and garnered praise from both artists and visitors alike.
Featuring local talents as well as artists from Montauk, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Connecticut and New Jersey, the Fine Art Fair provided a platform for diverse creative expression. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with artists, discuss their works, and gain insights into their creative processes as well as the ability to purchase and commission artwork.
The art fair showcased the works of 25 independent artists, including Alex Walsh, Alise Loebelsohn, Angela Classi, Anne Knife, Carolina Trinker, Christine D’Addorio, Dilia Kamensky, Hakob Hakobyan, Heather Krumholz, Ilene Silberstein, Jared Udell, Joan Stevens, Karla Panameno, Kate Mancini, Kathy Maher, Lillian Julien, Lisa Feiner, Marceil Kazickas, Matt Gabel, Melissa McElroy, Nina van Alphen, Sally Richardson, Sandy Ross, Sean Strafford, Stacey Creem and Syd Glasser.
