Family and friends gathered in the Shelter Rock Elementary School auditorium on April 5 as Shelter Rock second-graders took the stage for their annual United States Symbols Show. The performance space was anchored with red, white and blue balloons and decorations.
Each student wore a U.S.A. hat and a T-shirt. During the show, the second-graders showcased what they learned about America. This included facts about historic American figures such as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, and American landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument.
The students entertained the crowd by opening with “You’re a Grand Old Flag” and waving American flags following by singing other patriotic songs that included “God Bless America” and “This Land is Your Land.”
