*Special Request* Despite a rough start, Peaches is as sweet as her name! This beautiful tabby/tortishell came from a hoarder home with nearly 40 other cats. She had a horrible ear infection that left her with a slight head tilt and hearing loss. Peaches also needed most of her teeth removed. Her sweet personality is what rescuers noticed most about this six-year-old lady, and she’ll steal your heart too if you let her! While she may be a bit shy at first, Peaches is both playful and cuddly. She adds an extra touch of charm to any quiet home lucky enough to adopt her. Peaches will make someone a great lap cat and companion.

Adopt

*Special Request* Lucy is a spunky little eight-year-old gal. She’ll greet you with chirps of questions about your day when you come home. Once she’s comfortable with you, be ready for lots of heads buts and snuggles. Lucy has hyperthyroidism and is on two pills a day that she easily takes with pill pockets. This older gal has a low grade heart murmur, but that it doesn’t affect her at all! There is a fun side to her as she has some dog traits and likes to play fetch. You will need some fuzzy balls to keep her happy and busy. This girl has a big personality and will make a great pet for the right person. Lucy would prefer to be the queen of the castle so no other cats. Lucy is available for foster with intent to adopt.

Meet Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week, Bunnie XO. This beautiful brown and white Bully/Mastiff mix is approximately five years old. This delightfully sweet girl was abandoned in a park with a chunky potato-like male companion, left to fend for herself. Animal care experts believe Bunnie was used in a breeding situation, only to be cruelly discarded.

Despite everything she has been through, Bunnie XO has never lost her faith in people. This precious nugget is incredibly outgoing, trusting, and loves attention! When first making her acquaintance, Bunnie XO will give a gentle little nudge with her boop snoot, captivating all animal loving humans to play with her. Bunnie XO will gently accept treats and shows her gratitude by performing a hybrid wiggle-butt maneuver and tail wag. It’s absolutely adorable! Bunnie XO is a magical soul, who deserves a forever home where she can love and be loved. This couch cow is easy going, mellow and loaded with an unlimited supply of pure bliss to dish out to one lucky family.

Bunnie XO is healthy and her caretakers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter believe she would do well in a home with other pets and children. Fun Name Note: Bunnie XO was abandoned with another pup (male) who’s overall physique and personality reminded the team at the Animal Shelter of the singer/songwriter Jelly Roll. Hence we named his female companion after Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO. The two are not bonded.

If you are interested in meeting Bunnie please fill out an application  and schedule a date/time to properly interact in a domestic setting, which includes the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room, dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. For more information, visit TownofSmithtownAnimalShelter.com
