For the Glen Cove Rotary’s Annual Day Of Service, they hosted a Mental Health/ Narcan training in the City Hall Chamber.
John Javis, the Director of the Charles Evans Center, gave the audience a very informative lecture. The center is a one-stop agency providing the following services: primary medical care, telehealth/telemedicine, women’s health, neurological care, dental services, psychological and psychiatric services, mental and behavioral health, podiatry, addiction treatment. Glen Cove is very fortunate to have such a wonderful agency in the city.
The Glen Cove Rotary Club thanks it’s two speakers Corinne Kaufman and Lynn Jamie for sharing their powerful and heart wrenching stories of the loss of their loved ones due to fentanyl laced drugs. By sharing their stories, they hope to save lives. Thanks to Mayor Pam Panzenbeck for allowing the Rotary Club to hold the event in the Glen Cove City Hall Chamber.
Calle Panakos, Coordinator of Education and Training of Nassau County, gave a very informative training on how to administer Narcan. Every participant was given a Narcan kit at the end of the training.
