Tilles Center On The LIU Campus Ushers In A Scintillating 2024/25 Season

Tilles
Tilles Center for the Performing Arts

Tilles Center is the preeminent destination on Long Island with a reputation for presenting world-renowned artists in music, theater, and dance.

Its legacy for providing the very best in entertainment continues into the 2024/25 season with an impressive roster that was released on May 8th at their first ever Season Announcement Event. This dazzling line-up includes special events, orchestral and dance performances, Broadway tours, family fun, rock, pop, country concerts, and residency partnerships with Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Tilles Center is comprised of two theaters with each offering a special experience. There is the immense 2,200 seat Concert Hall with its impeccable acoustics and the intimate 500 seat Krasnoff Theater. Its rich history dates back to 1970 with the opening of The Dome which served until a snowstorm in 1978 took down the roof miraculously leaving every chair undamaged. This was replaced in 1981 by the concert hall, a more spacious structure seating 2,250 guests, which still stands today. Numerous cosmetic enhancements continued through the years with a 10,000 square foot expansion completed in 2005 including the Atrium making for a dramatic entry. The complex stands on the lush grounds of the Long Island University campus in Brookville providing a lovely setting where patrons may take a delightful stroll before or after the show.

Tilles Center presents more than 50 performances each year and strives to appeal to every interest and taste. Tilles Center’s Executive and Artistic Director Tom Dunn shared, “With this new season, we are reaffirming our dedication to bringing exceptional talent, both renowned and emerging, from diverse corners of the globe and across all artistic genres to Long Island. This season isn’t just about maintaining our forty-plus-year legacy; it’s about enhancing it, guaranteeing that each performance resonates deeply with the essence of our vibrant community.” The evening’s festivities were capped off by the stunning vocals of Mandy Gonzalez star of Hamilton, Wicked and In the Heights who will be returning on October 4th for the Stars On Stage series.
