The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset recently visited the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society for a tour of the historic Sands-Willets House, followed by a luncheon on the premises.
The tour was a powerful reminder of the League’s roots, as it focused on the historical society’s suffragist exhibit, a cause that the League was founded to support in 1920 by women suffrage leaders who were still fighting for the right to vote.
