Manor Oaks School sixth graders displayed their science research projects at the Science Fair on Feb. 11.
In early December, the students chose a topic they were interested in researching. Working individually or in pairs, the sixth graders worked on a question, hypothesis, and conclusion in relation to their topic.
Their final posterboards included these elements, as well as the materials they used, their procedure, how their topic relates to science, and why it is important. They had conferences with their teachers throughout the process to review their progress.
The projects included “Battle of the Bottles,” “Which Apple Contains the Most Juice?” “How Gaming Affects Sleep,” “Soccer Ball Showdown” and “Compost Creation.”
The sixth graders presented to their peers, staff, and families.
