New York State’s Department of Motor Vehicles mobile unit will process REAL ID applications at the Great Neck Library Library‘s Lower Lobby on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1 – 5 p.m.

Those who are interested must bring proof of identity, proof of state residency and their completed application (MV-44 or ID-44). There is no additional fee for a REAL ID. All normal transaction fees still apply.

The federal government requires a REAL ID-compliant document to board a domestic flight as of May 7. A REAL ID is a federally compliant DMV-issued driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID that is required to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.) or enter certain federal buildings, unless you have a valid passport.

If a New York State license or ID does not have a star or a flag on it, then it is not a REAL ID-compliant document.

No appointment is necessary. For more information, visit dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/enhanced-or-real-id
