Anton Newspapers Continuing Support For Blazing Trails 4-Autism Run

While the inaugural Blazing Trails 4-Autism 4 Mile Run was held six months ago, and the 2nd annual Run will be held six months from now – Sunday, Nov. 8 – there has been no interruption in the solid support for the event from the Long Island business community.

Angela Susan Anton, publisher of Anton Community Newspapers, announced a continuing “spectrum of support” for the run. The goal of the Blazing Trails 4-Autism Run is to increase awareness of autism and raise funds to help children and adults with autism and their families on Long Island. The run is conducted for the benefit of the Eden II/Genesis Programs, which provide specialized community based services and other opportunities to individuals with autism.

“We very much appreciated the support of Anton Newspapers for our inaugural Run last November,” noted Run Director Robyn Schneider, who is the mother of twin boys who attend the Eden II/Genesis School Program, “and we are thrilled to have them continue to be part of our team as we prepare for the second run in November of 2009.”

The inaugural run attracted over 800 runners and walkers. This year’s run has been selected to be a part of the USA Track & Field – Long Island Grand Prix of Long Island Road Races, so the Run Committee is basing their plans on what they expect will be as many as a thousand participants this November 8th. Angela Anton is among those planning on being on hand to support the 2009 event.
