Carol I. Baker

Carol I. Baker, of Garden City, died peacefully on March 22, 2009 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Henry Baker who predeceased her in June 1984. She is survived by her loving sister Noel McCullough and her husband Willard; Sidney Dickey and her husband John. Dear Aunt of Connie McCullough, Juliana Serino and the late Andrew J. Dickey. Beloved great-aunt to Joann Weiner, Sondra Verlander and Caroline Serino. Born in Mount Vernon, NY on March 6, 1926 to Arthur J.G Illian and Lillian White, she spent most of her life in Garden City, Chicago, IL, and Palm Beach, FL. She was an avid reader, loved working in her garden and also had a great admiration for animals. For many years she served as a volunteer at the Garden City Public Library and Nearly New Shop at Cathedral of Incarnation. A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of Incarnation in Garden City.
