Local athletes of all ages and levels of ability are cordially invited to join in at one or more of the free Triathlon Training Clinics that start on Monday evening, June 8th at The Runner’s Edge, 242 Main Street in Farmingdale.
The clinics are open to both adults and youngsters, including youngsters ages 8-13 who may be considering participating in the Runner’s Edge-TOBAY Junior Triathlon on Saturday, Aug. 29. Teenagers and adults who are signing up for the Runner’s Edge-TOBAY Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 30 can certainly benefit from the experience. The clinics will be conducted under the auspices of the Town of Oyster Bay, with support from The Runner’s Edge, AQUAFIT Masters, the Babylon Bike Shop and the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC). There is no charge to attend the clinics, and everyone is free to participate in all of them or any one or more individual clinics. The full schedule is as follows:
• Monday, June 8 at 6 p.m. – Adult & Youth Run Clinic at the Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale
• Wednesday, July 1 at 7 p.m. – Adult & Youth Bike Clinic at the Babylon Bike Shop
• Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. – Adult & Youth Run Clinic at the Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale
• Monday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. – Adult & Youth Run Clinic at the Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale
• Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. – Adult & Youth Bike Clinic at the Babylon Bike Shop
• Tuesday, July 28 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. – Adult & Youth Swim Clinic at the Bethpage Community Pool
• Saturday, Aug. 8 at 7:45 a.m. – Adult Bike & Run Clinic at Fireman’s Field in Oyster Bay
• Sunday, Aug. 9 at 8:15 a.m. – Youth Bike & Run Clinic at Fireman’s Field in Oyster Bay
• Sunday, Aug. 16 at 7:15 a.m. – Adult & Youth Bike & Swim Clinic, parking at Fireman’s Field, swim at Roosevelt Beach
• Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:45 a.m. – Adult & Youth Bike & Run Clinic at Fireman’s Field in Oyster Bay
