10-Year-Old Crusaders Gear Up for New Season

The 10-year-old Hicksville Crusaders are on the brink of a new season.

This year, there will be two teams competing in the 10-year-old age bracket; Coach Marty Ketelsen will lead his troops through Division “A” while Coach Phil Patti will guide his group of young players through the “B” Division.

Training camps for both teams are now in full swing. To help educate the players, Coach Ketelsen has assembled a first class crew of assistants. Pete Capel, Kevin McPartland, Steve Delaney and Rob McBride have joined Ketelsen for this year’s campaign and their collective expertise will serve this team well.

Coach Patti has gathered a number of assistants that are no less formidable. Jamie Smith, Dave Rodriguez, Mike Maloney and Roger Sokenis will prepare their charges for the challenges that they will face this year.

The Nassau County Youth Football League rules require that 10-year-old teams must kick off, punt and kick for the extra point. Adding this new wrinkle to the games will make for much more excitement.

Although the season does not open until Sunday, Sept. 13, the aura of anticipation is already permeating around both teams. For the fans of the 10-year-old Hicksville Crusaders, this year you will be able to double your pleasure and double your fun!
