33rd Annual Festival at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church

The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Hicksville will hold its 33rd annual Greek Festival on Friday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 11 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13, noon to 11 p.m. The festival will take place on the grounds of the church, which is located on Field Avenue just south of Old Country Road and west of South Oyster Bay Road.

Throughout the festival, the church will be open to the public to look at and admire the beautiful Greek Orthodox Iconography and see the exhibition of all the church’s educational and cultural programs.

Delicious Greek food will be served, including souvlaki, gyros, Greek salads, moussaka, pastitsio, cheese pies (tiropites), spinach pies (spanakopites), barbecued lamb, shish-kabob and more. The ladies of the church will prepare their famous “Loukoumades” (a honey-dipped pastry ball) and you can enjoy their warm kourabiedes, galatoboureko, karidopeta, koulourakia, baklava and more.

There will be live entertainment all three nights at the Taverna. The Hellenic Dancers of Holy Trinity, dressed in their colorful ethnic costumes, will perform. In addition, souvenirs, such as Greek jewelry, vases, religious articles, records, tapes and pottery will be available for purchase.

Festival admission is free, as is parking at two convenient locations –the National Grid on New South Road and Cablevision at 111 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage with shuttle bus service to the church.
