Due to the construction of the long-awaited and welcome new track at Herricks High School, the Herricks Homecoming festivities have been rescheduled and expanded to give them a whole “new look.”
On Friday, October 2, at 3 p.m. the Freshman vs. Faculty will play a kickball game on the high school football fieldm. there will be individual class meetings and then at 4 p.m. a hypnotist will arrive, free of charge, at the high school, new gym.
On Friday, October 16, Game Day-at 1 p.m. there will be a high school pep rally at the new gym and at 4 p.m. on game day on the high school athletic field
On Friday, October 23-at 7 p.m. there will be a semiformal at the high school new gym.
On Friday, October 30-Community Barbecue and Homecoming.
From 3 to 3:30 p.m. there will be a presentation of floats in the high school circle.
From 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. there will be a march of high school floats and of the classes accompanying them to the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park.
At 4 p.m. there will be a barbecue at the Herricks Community Center and presentation of dignitaries, honorees, classes, clubs, etc.
At 5 p.m. the Varsity football and cheerleading teams will depart for Tully Park.
At 6 p.m. there will be a Herricks bus and car caravan to Tully Park off Denton Avenue on Evergreen Avenue, New Hyde Park.
At 7 p.m. the kickoff of the Herricks Highlanders vs. The Oceanside Sailors.
