Martial Arts America to Host Event
Throughout November, Martial Arts America in Hicksville will take part in a national project called the “Thanksgiving Basket Brigade.” The mission is to make and deliver 100 Thanksgiving dinner baskets to local families who would otherwise do without. Each basket will contain a turkey, rolls, gravy, corn, beans, cranberry sauce, potatoes, pies, juice and much more.
To do so, students of Martial Arts America will hold a Kick-A Thon on Saturday, Nov. 17. At this time, students will perform at least 50,000 kicks. “Our goal is two-fold,” said owner Mike Donohue, “First, we wish to help our community and the needy families, and just as important, we will provide a firsthand giving experience to our students.
