Free Concert

The Defibrillators perform in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the LI Secular Humanists/Center For Inquiry. The band, featuring Sonny Meadows, lead vocals and harmonica, Bobby “Buddy” Cattrano, bass, and Robert Langley, Drums, will perform their own material. Their style is bluesy rock/folk and the band is noted for its sense of humor. Hosted by the CFI-LI. Call 640-5491.

World Series of Dreidels

Spin and Win! Start with pizza, salad and snacks. 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Dreidel tournament starts at 6:15 p.m. Each family member will receive gelt and we spin until someone is declared our new world champion. Plainview Water District Administration Building  Ribbon Cutting

The Plainview Water District’s 60 year-old administration building was in dire need of an overhaul. Now, thanks to the carefully planned construction that has taken place over the past few months, the entire infrastructure has been replaced with high-quality, environmentally friendly materials. Attendees are invited to tour the building and learn about all of the new and exciting things the Plainview Water District has to offer. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony there will be refreshments. 11 a.m.

TOBAY Hadassah

Invites you to view a new film, Against the Tide, produced by the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Rhonda Barad, eastern director of the center will introduce the movie. The film documents what happened in the United States during the Holocaust, highlighting how a young activist, Peter Bergson, challenged Washington and the establishment Jewish organizations to demand that the rescue of Europe’s Jews become a top priority for American Jews. 7 p.m. at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Rd.

December Healing Circle

The healing circle encourages balance of body, mind and spirit. This is done through a natural energy healing and relaxation technique involving light touch. This treatment is very powerful yet gentle for all ages and participants report increased pain relief and energy, reduced anxiety and stress and more. $10.
