March 23 Hearing Scheduled On Improvements to Plainview Water District

Proposed improvements to the Plainview Water District will be the subject of a Tuesday, March 23, public hearing by the Oyster Bay Town Board, according to Town Councilwoman Rebecca M. Alesia.

“The Commissioners of the Oyster Bay Water District are requesting the Town Board to consider the improvement of facilities consisting of the construction and equipping of water treatment facilities at Plants No. 1, 3 and 5; construction of a well at Plant No. 7; construction of boosters and transfer pumps at Plant No. 5; construction of a generator at Plants No. 1 and 5; and construction of an elevated storage tank,” Alesia stated. “The estimated total cost of the improvements is $14,334,600. The Commissioners have petitioned the Town Board to authorize the issuance of serial bonds to cover the cost.”

The meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay. Beginning at 10 a.m., the regular Town calendar, including the above-mentioned hearing, will be called. Following the regular Town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any matter.
